The Lord God spoke to
the children of Israel through the prophet Moses and said, “I call heaven and
earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and
death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your seed
may live (Deuteronomy 30:19).
In order for a
believer to truly live the blessed and victorious Christian life he must first,
choose to be blessed, and then appropriate or authorize God’s promise of
blessing in their life on a daily basis.
When God made Adam in
his likeness and image he also gave him dominion over all the earth, which
means He gave man earth as his domain to rule and reign. He then blessed Adam
and instructed him to be fruitful, multiply, replenish and subdue the earth.
Generations had passed and then God called Abraham from the heathen land of the
Ur of the Chaldees and informed him to leave his country, family and father’s
house. God then stamped Abraham with the same blessing upon Adam and said “I
will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curse you: and in you shall
all the families of the earth be blessed.”
What does this have
to do with us? We all know the first Adam failed in his original assignment but
the last Adam (Christ Jesus) didn’t. Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God and Lion of
the tribe of Judah overcame satan, death, hell and the grave and gave us the
right to be children of Abraham and sons and daughters of the Most High God.
For ye are all the
children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you have been baptized
into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is
neither bond or free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in
Christ Jesus. And if ye are Christ’s then are ye Abraham’s seed and heirs
according to the promise (Galatians 3:26-29).
The same blessing and
promise God gave to Adam and Abraham he has given to you and me. You and I are
blessed to be a blessing! Every day appropriate that blessing upon your life
sand claim your victory in every area of your life. Healing, deliverance,
safety, and provision are all yours in Christ Jesus. Put the word of God in
your heart and speak it out of your mouth. Build your life upon the foundation
of the word of God, keep the door of unforgiveness and other works of the flesh
closed to the enemy, and keep a praise of thanksgiving and adoration on your
lips, for what God has spoken will come to pass.
God has given us keys
to the kingdom of heaven and whatsoever you bind on earth is bound in heaven
and whatsoever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Don’t just take
what the enemy dishes out to you, stand on the promises of God and fight on and
receive the blessed life God has for you and toward others he has paced in your
pathway.
